Bath re-enamelling & resurfacing in Nettlecombe, Isle of Wight
Our technicians come to Nettlecombe for full bath re-enamelling and resurfacing. Nothing is taken out, with a one-year guarantee.
- Resurfacing from £350
- Wear marks under the taps
- A coating lifting around the plughole

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, once any rust has been treated. Steel frequently rusts by the plughole, so we check it carefully.
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
How we handle bath re-enamelling in Nettlecombe
We don’t move the bath, so the taps, tiles and plumbing aren’t touched. It generally takes one visit, and can be used again the next day. Common call-outs are for stains that won’t shift and thin, worn enamel in places, across basins & shower trays, acrylic baths and cast iron baths.
We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee.

What affects the price in Nettlecombe
Resurfacing from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Unusual colours or finishes
- The size and number of damaged areas
- What the surface is made of
The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
Quotes from your pictures
Phone pictures are fine. Make sure they show:
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- Details of any past repairs
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- What it’s made of, if you know
Send us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you are in Nettlecombe, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
When a repair is not the answer
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:
- Steel that has corroded right through
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.
Materials we repair
- Victorian roll-tops
- Pressed steel baths
- Acrylic baths
- Cast iron baths
- Basins & shower trays
What happens on the day
Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes the best part of a day, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- Primer and finish coats are applied.
- The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.
Before we arrive
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
Getting a price
The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures using our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.
Advice
Repair or replace in Nettlecombe?
Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Nettlecombe. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
What you get with us
- No need to remove anything
- Rooms protected and left tidy
- One-year guarantee on every repair
- Usually one visit, start to finish
Read our prices page or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
Aftercare tips
A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
- Never use suction bath mats
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
- Get any chip repaired quickly
Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, particularly where water is hard, to stop limescale building up.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
