Bath re-enamelling in New Pound without replacing anything

Cast iron and steel baths are ideal for re-enamelling, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. The result is a smooth, even, glossy finish. Common call-outs are for a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and a roll-top that’s seen better days, in pressed steel baths, Victorian roll-tops and acrylic baths.

Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee.

Landlords, agents and businesses in New Pound

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

What we can’t put right

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we work on in New Pound

  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays

Can I fix it myself?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

When to call us in New Pound

Hard water speeds up the wear, and gritty cleaners are the worst culprits.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Stains that will not shift
  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • Lots of chips and rust spots
  • A roll-top that’s seen better days

Before booking anyone

  • What preparation is included
  • If travel is included in the price
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers

How to compare quotes

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Quotes from your pictures

Two or three clear photos are generally enough. Try to include:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • The material, if you know it

Most customers in New Pound get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

What we do, step by step

We turn up when we said we would and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes a full day, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
  3. We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
  5. The bath is left to cure and can usually be used the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Repairing versus replacing in New Pound

Replacing the bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the walls and tiles and several days without a working bathroom. Re-enamelling gives the bath a new finish without moving it. Prices start from £350. We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

What you get with us

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Same prices wherever you are

See our pricing or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

Aftercare tips

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Repair dripping taps early
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath

A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, to stop limescale building up.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.
