Bath re-enamelling near Newtimber

When a repair is not the answer

We will not take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Holes rusted through the metal
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

Bath re-enamelling in Newtimber, done in place

After cleaning, repairing and priming, we spray on the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, so we don’t cut corners on it. We work on pressed steel baths, cast iron baths and Victorian roll-tops, and the jobs we see most are lots of chips and rust spots and staining under the taps and around the waste.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Should you replace it?

A refit takes several trades and several days. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, and the bath can be used the day after. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking, with no extras added later.

What you get with us

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Typically one visit, start to finish

Take a look at our prices page or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

What happens on the day

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It normally takes the best part of a day, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Newtimber

What happens next?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.

Can pets and children be at home?

Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

Will the new finish last?

A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Gentle cleaning, no suction mats.

Will you leave a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the whole UK, including Newtimber and the rest of West Sussex. Just include your postcode and we will confirm dates.

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

Will there be fumes?

Yes, while we’re applying the finish. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.

Work for landlords and builders

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in West Sussex and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

How to care for the repair

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Never use suction bath mats
  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
  • Have chips seen to early
  • Fix dripping taps quickly

Avoid hair dye, bath bombs and oils sitting on the surface, as they can stain. Fix dripping taps quickly.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported for the finish to last.

DIY kit or professional repair?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed price from pictures. This is what makes a difference:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How many areas need work
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Send photos for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • The material, if you know it
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.
