Repairs by material
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
How we handle bath re-enamelling in Nocton
We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, so we do not cut corners on it. Whether it’s a period or roll-top bath worth keeping and an outdated colour you’d like to change, we can normally put it right.
You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we will sort it.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.
When to call us in Nocton
The gloss on enamel is thin, and abrasive cleaning slowly wears it away. Eventually the surface turns porous and stains.
Keep an eye out for these signs:
- Stains that will not shift
- A dull, rough surface that will not come clean
- A roll-top that’s seen better days
- A coating lifting around the plughole

FAQs for Nocton
Will you leave a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
What happens if you find more damage?
If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.
Are you accredited?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Do I need to be at home?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You do not need to watch us work.
How durable is a resurfaced bath?
That depends on preparation and how the bath is treated. With good preparation and gentle cleaning it lasts a long time, and our work is guaranteed for a year.
What do you need from me?
Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.
Can you resurface a pink bath in white?
Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.
Can pets and children be at home?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.
Should you replace it?
For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s also far quicker. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Nocton. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Why Nocton customers choose us

- We come to you, anywhere in the UK

When a repair isn’t the answer
A repair is not right for every job, for example:
- A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Aftercare tips
Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Store bottles off the bath
- Get any chip repaired quickly
- Avoid suction-cup mats
The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. There’s no charge for travel to Nocton. The price comes down to:
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- The type of damage
- How many items we do on one visit
- How much damage there is
What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.
How to get a fixed price
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath, we can give you a fixed price.
How it works
Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes a full day, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.
Preparing for the visit
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Have a window or extractor fan available
How to get a price
For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.
