- Wear marks under the taps

How we handle bath re-enamelling in North Cave
After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, without any of the disruption of replacing it. It suits anyone happy with the bathroom apart from the bath. If you’re dealing with thin, worn enamel in places and a period or roll-top bath worth keeping, we can help.
You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will sort it.

When to call us in North Cave
Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. That is the point where re-enamelling makes sense.
Look out for these signs:
- Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating
- Wear marks under the taps
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
What to look for in a quote
- What happens if they find more damage
- Whether they match the colour on site
- A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
For landlords and businesses
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.
Questions from North Cave
How quickly can you book me in?
Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
What happens if you find more damage?
We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
Will the new finish last?
A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.
Can you repair something that is been repaired before?
Generally, yes. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Is there any odour?
It depends on the job, but often a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help.
What happens next?
You will get a fixed quote back. There is no obligation to book.
Do you come to North Cave?
Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to North Cave and the rest of East Riding of Yorkshire. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Keeping it looking good
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:
- Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
- Store bottles off the bath
- Respect the curing time we give you
- A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and any rust spreads underneath. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.
What bath re-enamelling costs
Prices start from £350. We give every job a fixed quote from photos. This is what makes a difference:
- The size and number of damaged areas
- The material
- How hard the colour is to match
- How many items we do on one visit
Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Quotes from your pictures
Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Any details about the material
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- One picture of the whole bath
We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.
What a repair can’t fix
To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:
- Steel that has corroded right through
- A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.
Materials we repair
- Pressed steel baths
- Acrylic baths
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Basins & shower trays
Different materials, different repairs
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
Acrylic
We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.

Should you replace it?
There are times replacing is better: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you’re refitting the whole room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

How the visit works
You don’t need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. It generally takes the best part of a day, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the day after.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
Get a quote
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
