Bath re-enamelling in Ore, done in place
After cleaning, repairing and priming, we spray on the new finish. The preparation is what makes it last, so we do not cut corners on it. Our technicians work on acrylic baths, basins & shower trays and pressed steel baths, and common reasons people contact us are an old resurfacing that’s failing and a bath in a colour that no longer suits.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Common questions in Ore
How long is the bath unusable?
One day for most baths and can be used the day after. We give you timings with the quote.
Can you fix a peeling bath coating?
Usually, yes. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
Does the bath have to be removed?
No, it stays where it is. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room protected and ventilated.
Is there a call-out fee?
No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.
What do you need from me?
Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we will take it from there.
Are you accredited?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
What happens after I send photos?
We review the pictures and send a fixed quote.
How quickly can you book me in?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.
Should you replace it?
A new bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and several days without a working bathroom. Resurfacing renews the entire surface with the bath left where it is. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

Keeping it looking good
A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:
- Store bottles off the bath
- Respect the curing time we give you
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and any rust spreads underneath. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
Honest limits
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:
- Holes rusted through the metal
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
Materials we repair
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
When to call us in Ore
Hard water speeds up the wear, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.
Send us a picture if you notice any of these:
- A coating lifting around the plughole
- Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
- Stains that will not shift
What to look for in a quote
- Who turns up on the day
- How long it needs to cure
- How long the guarantee is and what it covers
- What preparation is included
Can I fix it myself?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:
- Unusual colours or finishes
- What the surface is made of
- How easy the damage is to reach
- How much damage there is
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before you book.
Send photos for a quote
Phone photos are fine. Just ensure we can see:
- Any details about the material
- Something in shot to show the size
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.
Different materials, different repairs
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Steel frequently rusts by the plughole, so we check it carefully.
What we do, step by step
Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Allow a full day from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the next day.
Before we arrive
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Clear the area around the damage
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
How to get a price
We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.
