Bath re-enamelling at your home in Parchey
When a bath is structurally fine but worn out on the surface, re-enamelling is usually the most cost-effective option. There is no removal, plumbing or tiling involved. Common call-outs are for an outdated colour you’d like to change and stains that won’t shift, across basins & shower trays, Victorian roll-tops and pressed steel baths.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Parchey questions
Can you quote from pictures?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.
Can you change the colour of my bath?
Yes, most people go for white. Tell us what you’d like when you ask for a quote.
Which areas do you work in?
We work UK-wide, so Parchey is covered. Prices do not change with location.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.
Can a failed resurfacing be redone?
Yes, we do this regularly. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.
Does the bath have to be removed?
Not at all. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room masked and ventilated.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and we will quote them together.
Will the price change on the day?
If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.
Landlord and trade work in Parchey
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.
Why repair rather than replace?
There are times replacing is better: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the entire room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Parchey. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Why Parchey customers choose us

Looking after it afterwards
Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:
- Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
- Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
Give the finish its full curing time before using the bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.
Do not try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.
Honest limits
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. We cannot fix:
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- A bath split right through the body
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow the best part of a day. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- Primer and finish coats are applied.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
How to prepare
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Let us know which floor the room is on

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. We give every job a fixed price from pictures. This is what makes a difference:
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- What the surface is made of
- The type of damage
- Doing more than one item at once
Compared with replacing, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.
Send pictures for a quote
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- One picture of the entire bath
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Any details about the material
Email us photos of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your TA7 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
Can I fix it myself?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
What your bath is made of matters
Cast iron
Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
