Bath re-enamelling in Poulton

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Poulton

After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. Typical jobs include an outdated colour you’d like to change and several chips and rust patches, across acrylic baths, cast iron baths and Victorian roll-tops.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. There is no charge for travel to Poulton. The price depends on:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The type of damage

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it.

How to get a fixed quote

Phone pictures are fine. Just make sure we can see:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

Should you replace it?

Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

What we cannot put right

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off
  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

How the visit works

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you’re not left guessing. On site, it takes a full day for most jobs. The room is left tidy and you’ll know when it can be used.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready.

How to prepare

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

Ask for a price

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Related advice

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported for the finish to last.

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

DIY kit or professional repair?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Poulton

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Gloucestershire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Aftercare tips

A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:

  • Store bottles off the bath
  • Have chips seen to early
  • Respect the curing time we give you
  • Avoid suction-cup mats

Avoid hair dye, bath bombs and oils sitting on the surface, because they can mark the finish. Fix dripping taps quickly.

Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time, and each one adds to the preparation. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.
