Bath re-enamelling at your home in Princes Gate
A re-enamelled bath looks and feels like a new one, without any of the disruption of replacing it. It suits anyone happy with the bathroom apart from the bath. We regularly repair acrylic baths, cast iron baths and Victorian roll-tops, and the jobs we see most are a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean and an old resurfacing that’s failing.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Looking after it afterwards
Looking after the surface is easy:
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
- Repair dripping taps early
- Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, don’t pick at it. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
What a repair cannot fix
We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:
- A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

How it works
We turn up when we said we would and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a full day, and we leave the room as we found it.
- The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- The bath is left to cure and can usually be used the following day.
Preparing for the visit

- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Different materials, different repairs
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
Princes Gate: your questions answered
How quickly can you book me in?
We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
Will there be fumes?
A little, during the work. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.
Will the bath be moved?
Not at all. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room masked and ventilated.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.
Is my repair covered?
Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Do you hold any accreditations?
We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we will plan for it.
Will the new finish last?
Care for it and it lasts. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.
Repair or replace: which is better?
When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Prices start from £350. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Princes Gate. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Why us?
- Colour mixed on the day to match
- Same prices wherever you are
- We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
- Everything repaired in place

Work for landlords and builders
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Princes Gate. The price reflects:
- Doing more than one item at once
- How easy the damage is to reach
- The material
- Unusual colours or finishes
We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
How to get a fixed quote
You can take the photos on your phone. Just ensure we can see:
- Natural light rather than flash
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
For a price in Princes Gate, pictures are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
Common problems we fix in Princes Gate
Enamel wears gradually. Abrasive cleaners, limescale and years of use wear the gloss away, normally first under the taps and around the waste.
Most people contact us when they notice one of these:
- Stains that won’t shift
- A roll-top that is seen better days
- A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean
- Lots of chips and rust spots
