Work for landlords and builders
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in North Lanarkshire and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Bath re-enamelling in Ravenswood, done in place
We do not move the bath, so the taps, tiles and plumbing are not touched. It generally takes one visit, and can be used again the following day. We work on acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and pressed steel baths, and people most frequently call us about thin, worn enamel in places and a coating lifting around the plughole.
Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in North Lanarkshire.

Common problems we fix in Ravenswood
Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. At that stage, resurfacing is the fix.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
- Chips and rust in more than one place
- An old resurfacing that is failing

When we would advise against a repair
Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, for example:
- Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off
- A bath split right through the body
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber

How we price bath re-enamelling
Resurfacing from £350. We don’t charge extra for travel to Ravenswood. The price comes down to:
- The material
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- How easy the damage is to reach
- The size and number of damaged areas
Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.
Send pictures for a quote
The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A photo taken from further back
- Any details about the material
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, include your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

FAQs for Ravenswood
Will it make a mess?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.
Will there be a smell?
It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.
What areas do you cover?
Everywhere in the UK, Ravenswood included. There is no extra charge for travel.
Do you cover Ravenswood?
Yes, we do. We send a technician to Ravenswood for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Can landlords book you?
Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
Will there be fumes?
There is some smell while the coating is applied, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It fades as the coating cures.
Can pets and children be at home?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. The rest of the house is unaffected.
What happens once I’ve sent pictures?
We come back with a fixed quote. You are under no obligation.
What happens on the day
On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take the best part of a day. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- Primer and finish coats are applied.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Before we arrive
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Clear the area around the damage

Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacing a bath generally involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, and the bath can be used the day after. Prices start from £350. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before you book, with no extras added later.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Looking after it afterwards
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Avoid suction-cup mats
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
- Get any chip repaired quickly
Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, particularly with hard water, and rinse away any product left on the surface.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
