About our bath re-enamelling in Redmarshall

Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, once the bath has been cleaned, repaired and prepared. Whether it’s enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough and a coating lifting around the plughole, we can usually put it right.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Work for landlords and builders

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in County Durham and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

10 questions to ask before you book

Common questions in Redmarshall

Do you come to Redmarshall?

We do. Technicians travel to Redmarshall from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

How long does re-enamelling last?

That depends on preparation and how the bath is treated. Properly prepared and looked after, it lasts well, and our work is guaranteed for a year.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide. Prices don’t change with location.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Looking after it afterwards

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Respect the curing time we give you
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth

Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, don’t use suction bath mats, and do not leave bottles or razors standing on the surface.

Do not try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface and makes resurfacing more work.

How it works

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will get on with it. The job generally runs to the best part of a day, tidy-up included.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

What bath re-enamelling costs

Prices start from £350. There is no charge for travel to Redmarshall. The price comes down to:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How many areas need work
  • Whether we combine several jobs
