Bath re-enamelling at your home in Redwither
Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. We work on Victorian roll-tops, acrylic baths and pressed steel baths, and common reasons people contact us are an old resurfacing that’s failing and a period or roll-top bath worth keeping.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll sort it.

Should you replace it?
A refit takes several trades and several days. Re-enamelling takes one technician and typically one day, and the bath can be used the day after. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Why us?
- Colour mixed on the day to match
- One-year guarantee on every repair
- Fixed prices from your photos
- We come to you, anywhere in the UK

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we pay close attention there.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.
How we price bath re-enamelling
Prices start from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:
- Doing more than one item at once
- The colour and finish to match
- What kind of damage it is
- How easy the damage is to reach
There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Send photos for a quote
Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- Something in shot to show the size
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Any details about the material
Upload a picture of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you are in Redwither, and we will come back with a fixed quote.
Questions from Redwither
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Generally, yes. The old repair comes out first.
What areas do you cover?
Everywhere in the UK, Redwither included. There’s no extra charge for travel.
What do you need from me?
A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Does the bath have to be removed?
Not at all. We work on the bath in place, with the room protected and ventilated.
How it works
Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and we start. Allow most of the day, and we will keep you posted as we go.
- The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
- We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
- We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- Once cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready.
Getting ready for the visit
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Let us know about parking or access
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
How to get a price
Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

When a repair is not the answer
We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:
- A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
- Holes rusted through the metal
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

What else we do in Redwither
For landlords and businesses
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Redwither use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
Do you need bath re-enamelling in Redwither?
Older baths often have several problems at once: worn patches, chips, rust spots and stains. Resurfacing sorts them out together.
Look out for these signs:
- Chips and rust in more than one place
- An old resurfacing that’s failing
- A roll-top that is seen better days
- Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
