Bath re-enamelling in Rheda Park without replacing anything

Resurfacing renews the whole surface of the bath without taking anything out. It suits baths that are dull, stained, rough or chipped all over. Our technicians work on cast iron baths, Victorian roll-tops and pressed steel baths, and the jobs we see most are an outdated colour you’d like to change and a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. We don’t charge extra for travel to Rheda Park. The price depends on:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The size and number of damaged areas

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Quotes from your pictures

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The material, if you know it
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

To get a price, send two or three pictures using our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

What happens on the day

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take most of the day, tidy-up included.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

What we are called out for in Rheda Park

Older baths frequently have several problems at once: dull areas, chips, rust and staining. Resurfacing sorts them out together.

Look out for any of the following:

  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • Lots of chips and rust spots
  • Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping

What your quote should include

  • What prep work is covered
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • How to look after the finish
  • Who will actually do the work

Choosing a repair company

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Honest limits

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
  • A metal bath with a through crack

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. Otherwise, resurfacing normally wins. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, once any rust has been treated. Steel often rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Keeping it looking good

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
  • Never use suction bath mats

Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, especially in hard water areas, to stop limescale building up.

The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and any rust spreads underneath. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
