Bath re-enamelling in Sale without replacing anything
When a bath is structurally fine but worn out on the surface, resurfacing is normally the best value. There is no removal, plumbing or tiling involved. We are often asked to fix a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean and staining under the taps and around the waste, across pressed steel baths, cast iron baths and acrylic baths.
Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee in Sale and across Trafford.

Repairing versus replacing in Sale
Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you’re refitting the entire room anyway. Otherwise, resurfacing usually wins. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

When a repair isn’t the answer
We won’t take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
- A bath split right through the body
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.
Surfaces we repair
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Victorian roll-tops
What affects the price in Sale
Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Sale. What changes the price is:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- What kind of damage it is
- How much damage there is
- Unusual colours or finishes
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before booking.
How to get a fixed quote
Two or three clear photos are usually enough. Try to include:
- Where you are, by postcode
- The material, if you know it
- Natural light rather than flash
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos using our quote form or ring us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

How to look after the repair
Aftercare is simple:
- Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
- Repair dripping taps early
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, don’t use suction bath mats, and do not leave bottles or razors standing on the surface.
Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It removes more of the surface.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Sale
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Sale
Does the bath have to be removed?
Not at all. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room masked and ventilated.
What does bath re-enamelling cost?
Prices start from £350. Every job gets a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up and a picture of the whole item and your postcode.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.
Do you charge for travel?
No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Which areas do you work in?
We cover the whole UK, including Sale and the rest of Trafford. Send your postcode with your photos and we’ll confirm dates.
Will the new finish last?
That depends on preparation and how the bath is treated. With good preparation and gentle cleaning it lasts a long time, and our work is guaranteed for a year.
Can a failed resurfacing be redone?
Yes. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.
Do the materials smell?
Expect a mild smell while we are working that clears as it cures.
The process
We begin by going over the job with you. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. It normally takes a full day.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s normally ready the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Clear the area around the damage
Get a quote
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. There is no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.
