Bath re-enamelling in Saul

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Saul

A re-enamelled bath looks and feels like a new one, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. We work on cast iron baths, pressed steel baths and Victorian roll-tops, and people most often call us about a bath in a colour that no longer suits and a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Saul questions

Can you price it without visiting?

Generally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Which areas do you work in?

All of Gloucestershire, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

Can pets and children be at home?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

How long does re-enamelling last?

Care for it and it lasts. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Do you cover Saul?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Saul for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Why repair rather than replace?

A new bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, making good the walls and tiles and several days without a working bathroom. Resurfacing gives the bath a new finish with the bath left where it is. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

What you get with us

  • Generally one visit, start to finish
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Work done at your home or business

See our prices page and guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • The material and finish
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How much damage there is
  • What kind of damage it is

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Quotes from your pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • The material, if you know it
  • Details of any past repairs

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Saul

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

How it works

The work is clean and fairly quiet. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a full day. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

How to prepare

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Get a quote

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Advice

When a repair isn’t the answer

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • A metal bath with a through crack

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Looking after it afterwards

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
  • Wash away dyes and oils after use
  • Have chips seen to early

Dry the bath after use if possible, especially in hard water areas, and rinse away any product left on the surface.

Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
