Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Scredington

How do I get a price for bath re-enamelling in Scredington?

Resurfacing from £350. Every job gets a fixed quote based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item with your NG34 postcode.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before.

How long does re-enamelling last?

Care for it and it lasts. Gentle cleaning, no suction mats.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

How long is the bath unusable?

Most baths are done in a day, ready the following day. We give you timings with the quote.

Will the price change on the day?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Does the bath have to be removed?

No, it stays where it is. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room protected and ventilated.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Scredington

Re-enamelling is a one-day job for most baths, with the bath ready to use the following day. Nothing is disconnected or removed. If you are dealing with a peeling or bubbling previous coating and brown or grey marks that don’t clean off, we can generally put it right, whatever the material.

Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Why repair rather than replace?

A refit takes several trades and several days. Re-enamelling takes one technician and generally one day, with the bath ready the next day. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book.

What you get with us

  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Never use suction bath mats
  • Wash away dyes and oils after use
  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Do not use the bath until it has fully cured

The first few days matter most: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.

Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.

The process

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes most of the day, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Related advice

When a repair is not the answer

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • A bath split right through the body
  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to Scredington. The price comes down to:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The type of damage
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How many areas need work

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Getting a price from pictures

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Send us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Scredington, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
