Bath re-enamelling in Shebbear

Landlords, agents and businesses in Shebbear

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Bath re-enamelling in Shebbear without replacing anything

Re-enamelling is a one-day job for most baths, and you can use the bath the day after. Taps, tiles, panels and plumbing all stay in place. We’re often asked to fix lots of chips and rust spots and a coloured bath you want in white, on Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and basins & shower trays.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

Why repair rather than replace?

When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Nothing else is disturbed. Prices start from £350. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why us?

How it works

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to a full day.

  1. We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready.

How to prepare

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Our hiring checklist

How we price bath re-enamelling

Resurfacing from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to Shebbear. The price depends on:

  • What the surface is made of
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • What kind of damage it is

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Quotes from your photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job.

Shebbear: your questions answered

Can tenants book a repair?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

What areas do you cover?

Everywhere in the UK, Shebbear included. Travel is included in the price.

Will there be fumes?

There is some smell while the coating is applied, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It fades as the coating cures.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.

Will you leave a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.

Do you resurface freestanding baths?

Yes. Inside and out.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Different materials, different repairs

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Looking after it afterwards

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Wash away dyes and oils after use
  • Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
  • Never use suction bath mats

Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.

Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.

What a repair can’t fix

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off
  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.
