Bath re-enamelling near Siston

When we would advise against a repair

We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
  • A metal bath with a through crack

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths

About our bath re-enamelling in Siston

We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. The preparation is what makes it last, so we do not cut corners on it. Our technicians work on Victorian roll-tops, basins & shower trays and pressed steel baths, and people most frequently call us about a period or roll-top bath worth keeping and stains that won’t shift.

Every job is backed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for the best part of a day. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to look after it.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

How to prepare

  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Related advice

Should you replace it?

Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: they’re heavy, often need breaking up, and a new one isn’t cheap. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Prices start from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

What you get with us

  • We leave the room as we found it

Looking after it afterwards

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
  • Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath
  • Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured

Dry the bath after use if possible, especially in hard water areas, and rinse away any product left on the surface.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.

Can I fix it myself?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

Work for landlords and builders

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit.

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Siston

In hard water areas, limescale and the cleaning it needs wear enamel faster, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.

The things clients normally mention when they call are:

  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating
  • Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
