Bath re-enamelling in Steeple

Bath re-enamelling in Steeple, done in place

Most baths are re-enamelled in a day, with the bath ready to use the following day. Nothing is disconnected or removed. We work on Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and basins & shower trays, and the jobs we see most are staining under the taps and around the waste and a coating lifting around the plughole.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Common questions in Steeple

Can a failed resurfacing be redone?

Yes, we do this regularly. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.

How long does re-enamelling last?

A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Gentle cleaning, no suction mats.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Do you cover Steeple?

We do. Technicians travel to Steeple from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?

Yes, often. We resurface the inside, and the outside can be refinished too.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, often. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Will the bath be moved?

No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so nothing else is disturbed.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

Honest limits

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths

Aftercare tips

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
  • Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs immediately

Treat the new finish gently at first: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.

Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

What we’re called out for in Steeple

Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, peeling around the waste or bubbling. We strip what’s failing and start again.

The things customers normally mention when they call are:

  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
  • Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits
  • A bath that stays dull however much you clean it

Before you book anyone

  • How to look after the finish
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

Our hiring checklist

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot for the finish to last.

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A refit takes several trades and several days. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, and the bath can be used the day after. Prices start from £350. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Steeple. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

What you get with us

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Colour-matched on site
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish

For landlords and businesses

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

What we do, step by step

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we’re doing. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. You can expect it to take most of the day, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
