About our bath re-enamelling in Trenale
Re-enamelling is a one-day job for most baths, and you can use the bath the following day. Taps, tiles, panels and plumbing all stay in place. Whether it’s a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and thin, worn enamel in places, we can help, whatever the material.
You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

FAQs for Trenale
What do you need from me?
Photos of the damage, a photo of the whole bath and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.
Are you a vetted contractor?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Do you cover Trenale?
Yes. We work across the UK and come to Trenale. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Can a failed resurfacing be redone?
Yes, we do this regularly. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
What happens after I send pictures?
We come back with a fixed quote, generally with dates to choose from. You’re under no obligation.
When we would advise against a repair
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- Holes rusted through the metal
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.
Surfaces we repair
- Victorian roll-tops
- Cast iron baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
- Acrylic baths
Repairs by material
Cast iron
Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.
Acrylic
Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, with a coating system suited to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.
How the visit works
On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job usually takes most of the day. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- The bath is left to cure and can normally be used the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
Get a quote
A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
Advice
Aftercare tips
Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
- Store bottles off the bath
Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, do not use suction bath mats, and do not leave bottles or razors standing on the surface.
Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It removes more of the surface and makes resurfacing more work.
Repairing versus replacing in Trenale
If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is usually much cheaper than replacing it, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s much quicker too. Prices start from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking.
What you get with us
- No extra charge for your area
- Colour-matched on site
- Generally one visit, start to finish
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
Read our prices page and bath cost comparison.
Can I fix it myself?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
Do you need bath re-enamelling in Trenale?
A dull surface stains and holds dirt, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. At that stage, resurfacing is the fix.
Send us a picture if you notice any of these:
- Chips and rust in more than one place
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
- A bath in a colour that no longer suits
