Veryan: your questions answered
How soon can you come?
That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send photos.
Can pets and children be at home?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.
Do the materials smell?
There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.
What happens after I send pictures?
We look at the photos and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.
Will the bath be moved?
No. We resurface it in place, so the tiles and taps stay put.
Do you cover Veryan?
Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Veryan and the rest of Cornwall. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Bath re-enamelling in Veryan without replacing anything
Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, once the bath has been cleaned, repaired and prepared. We’re often asked to fix a roll-top that’s seen better days and a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean, across pressed steel baths, acrylic baths and Victorian roll-tops.
We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee.

DIY kit or professional repair?
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

What we’re called out for in Veryan
Older baths often have several problems at once: worn patches, chips, rust spots and stains. Re-enamelling deals with all of them in one go.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- A bath in a colour that no longer suits
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- Chips and rust in more than one place
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
What to look for in a quote
- How long it needs to cure
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
- Whether a trained technician does the job
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
Repair or replace: which is better?
If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is normally much cheaper than replacing it, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s also far quicker. Prices start from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

The process
The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we are there. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes the best part of a day. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.
- First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
- Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- Primer and finish coats are applied.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
How to prepare
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Make sure the area is dry
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to Veryan. The price comes down to:
- What kind of damage it is
- Access to the area
- Doing more than one item at once
- The colour and finish to match
A repair typically costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
Send photos for a quote
You can generally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:
- Details of any past repairs
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
If you are in Veryan and want a price, the easiest route is photos: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Cast iron
Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
Keeping it looking good
Aftercare is simple:
- Respect the curing time we give you
- Get any chip repaired quickly
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, especially in hard water areas, so limescale can’t build up.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
