Bath re-enamelling at your home in Watford
After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. Our repair technicians work on Victorian roll-tops, basins & shower trays and pressed steel baths, and people most often call us about several chips and rust patches and worn patches where water runs and sits.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Watford as everywhere else we work.

Common questions in Watford
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
Which areas do you work in?
Across the UK, and that includes Watford. Prices do not change with location.
How long will the bath be out of use?
Generally one day, with the bath ready the next day. A badly pitted bath can need a second day.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Will the price change on the day?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.
When can you do it?
That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
Will it make a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
Are you accredited?
We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Work for landlords and builders
If you manage property in Watford, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.
Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
What affects the price in Watford
Prices start from £350. There is no charge for travel to Watford. The price depends on:
- What kind of damage it is
- Doing more than one item at once
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
A repair usually costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
How to get a fixed price
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Details of any past repairs
- What it’s made of, if you know
We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
When a repair is not the answer
Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off
- A bath split right through the body
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
Materials we repair
- Acrylic baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Victorian roll-tops
Looking after it afterwards
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Get any chip repaired quickly
- Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs immediately
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
Avoid hair dye, bath bombs and oils sitting on the surface, because they can mark the finish. Fix dripping taps quickly.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
