Bath re-enamelling in Well, done in place
We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. Several coats of finish go on over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. Whether it’s staining under the taps and around the waste and a bath that stays dull however much you clean it, we can help, on Victorian roll-tops, basins & shower trays and cast iron baths alike.
We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are covered after the visit.

Honest limits
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
- Steel that has corroded right through
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

The process
There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will get on with it. Most visits take the best part of a day, tidy-up included.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s generally ready the next day.
How to prepare
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
Getting a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Why repair rather than replace?
A replacement often means several trades over several days. Resurfacing takes one technician and typically a day, with the bath back in use the next day. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

How we price bath re-enamelling
Resurfacing from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:
- How many items we do on one visit
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- How many areas need work
Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
How to get a fixed price
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Where you are, by postcode
Most customers in Well get their price from photos. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
How to care for the repair
Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
- Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
Dry the bath after use if possible, especially in hard water areas, and rinse off any bath products.
Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and rust spots spread under the surface. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.
Can I fix it myself?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
Landlord and trade work in Well
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
