Why repair rather than replace?

If you like your bathroom but not your bath’s surface, resurfacing is the simplest answer. Nothing else is disturbed. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Work done at your home or business
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface

Can I fix it myself?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Keeping it looking good

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
  • Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Repair dripping taps early
  • Store bottles off the bath

Give the finish its full curing time before using the bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.

Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and any rust spreads underneath. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.

What we cannot put right

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

What we work on

  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths

Questions from West Dereham

Will there be a smell?

Expect a mild smell while we are working that clears as it cures.

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes, most people go for white. Mention the colour you want when you send pictures.

Does the bath have to be removed?

No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so the tiles and taps stay put.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Can a failed resurfacing be redone?

Generally, yes. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.

Can you price it without visiting?

Generally, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Landlords, agents and businesses in West Dereham

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in West Dereham use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it typically costs far less than a refit.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

What happens on the day

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes most of the day. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Before we arrive

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Open a window if you can
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Our hiring checklist

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
