Landlord and trade work in Wickwar
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
Bath re-enamelling at your home in Wickwar
When a bath is structurally fine but worn out on the surface, resurfacing is normally the best value. It avoids removal, plumbing and re-tiling. We regularly repair Victorian roll-tops, acrylic baths and basins & shower trays, and the jobs we see most are an original cast iron bath that needs restoring and a bath in a colour that no longer suits.
You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we will sort it.

Keeping it looking good
How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
- Never use suction bath mats
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
Dry the bath after use if possible, especially in hard water areas, and rinse off any bath products.
Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.

Can I fix it myself?
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
What your bath is made of matters
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
When a repair is not the answer
It helps to know what we cannot do too:
- A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
Materials we work on in Wickwar

Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacing the bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and several days without a working bathroom. Resurfacing renews the whole surface without moving it. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

The process
Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes most of the day, and we leave the room as we found it.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- Once cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready.
Getting ready for the visit
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:
- What the surface is made of
- How easy the damage is to reach
- How many items we do on one visit
- What kind of damage it is
A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
How to get a fixed quote
Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- One picture of the entire bath
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- Natural light rather than flash
Send us a picture of the damage and one of the whole item, with your GL12 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
Common questions in Wickwar
Is repairing better than replacing?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.
Do the materials smell?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.
Do you cover Wickwar?
Yes. We work across the UK and come to Wickwar and the rest of Gloucestershire. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Can a failed resurfacing be redone?
Yes, we do this regularly. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.
Do I need to be at home?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.
Are you accredited?
We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
What happens once I’ve sent photos?
You will get a fixed quote back. You’re under no obligation.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
