Bath repair in Bache, done in place

A damaged bath does not have to mean a new bathroom. Our repair technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, mixing the colour on the day so the repair is hard to spot. We work on whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and roll-top & freestanding, and the jobs we see most are an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and a hole punched through by something heavy.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Rusty chip next to a bath plughole, before and after repair

What we can’t put right

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

DIY kit or professional repair?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Should you replace it?

Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • No need to remove anything
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Colour-matched on site
  • One visit for most repairs

What we are called out for in Bache

Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else, closely followed by shower heads. Fittings cause damage too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.

Most people get in touch when they notice one of these:

  • Rust spots around the plughole
  • Holes from dropped items
  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface

What affects the price in Bache

Repairs from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many areas need work
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many items we do on one visit

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Quotes from your pictures

You can generally get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Where you are, by postcode

Upload a photo of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you are in Bache, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

What happens on the day

Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the work takes a few hours for most jobs. The room is left tidy.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can usually use the bath the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Bache questions

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Frequently, if there’s access underneath. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.

How invisible is a bath repair?

On a bath in good condition, a colour matched repair is very hard to spot. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.

How long does the repair take to cure?

Normally within a day, depending on the repair.

Is there a call-out fee?

There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Bache

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Cheshire West and Chester and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
