Need bath repair in Bedwas?

Bath repair in Bedwas without replacing anything

A damaged bath does not have to mean a new bathroom. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, mixing the colour on the day so the repair is hard to spot. If you are dealing with snagging damage from a refit and scuffs and scratches in the surface, we can usually put it right.

Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee.

What we’re called out for in Bedwas

A bath gets knocked about more than you’d think: bottles, shower heads and razors are dropped every day, and fittings press hard against the enamel. Sooner or later, most baths pick up a chip.

These are the problems we are asked about most:

  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • Chips under the taps
  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose

Before you book anyone

  • How the colour is matched
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?

Choosing a repair company

Landlords, agents and businesses in Bedwas

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • Access to the area
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Unusual colours or finishes

A repair normally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Send photos for a quote

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

What we can’t put right

A repair isn’t right for every job, including:

  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel

Keeping it looking good

To keep it looking its best:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it

Look after the repair the same way as the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water cannot get in. Remove it before the repair.

Should you replace it?

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and getting rid of the old bath. A repair fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

What you get with us

  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

What happens on the day

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can carry on at home. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes a morning or an afternoon. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

How to prepare

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Advice

Questions from Bedwas

Can you quote from pictures?

Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

When can I have a bath again?

Generally within a day, though it depends on what we have done.

What information do you need?

Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

Usually. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.
