Bath repair near Blakelow

Bath repair in Blakelow, done in place

Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. On steel and cast iron, exposed metal starts to rust, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. A repair stops both. We regularly repair roll-top & freestanding, cast iron enamel and pressed steel enamel, and common reasons people get in touch are rusty patches near the plughole and damage beneath the taps.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in Blakelow and across Staffordshire.

Repairing versus replacing in Blakelow

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the entire surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Our bath repair starts from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Blakelow. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why book with us

  • Generally one visit, start to finish
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • One-year guarantee on every repair

Landlords, agents and businesses in Blakelow

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. There is no area surcharge for Blakelow. What changes the price is:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How many areas need work
  • How many items we do on one visit

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Send photos for a quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:

  • One picture of the entire bath
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, just like other baths.

DIY kit or professional repair?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Blakelow questions

I rent my home. Can I book you?

When a repair isn’t the answer

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It generally takes a few hours, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
