- Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
- A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Bath repair at your home in Bogend
Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, is repaired in place. Nothing is unplumbed, your tiles stay as they are, and the finish is matched to the rest of the bath. If you’re dealing with chips caused by builders and deep scratches in acrylic, we can usually put it right.
You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before booking.

What else we do in Bogend
Keeping it looking good
How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:
- Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
- Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
There is nothing special to do after a repair, beyond gentle cleaning. Skip bleach and gritty creams and rinse after use.
A small chip is a quick job. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so early repair saves time and money.
What we do, step by step
Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Plan for a few hours, depending on the damage from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to care for it.
- First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Should you replace it?
Replacing a fitted bath generally means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it deals only with the damage in one visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

What your bath is made of matters
Pressed steel
Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
DIY kit or professional repair?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
Common questions in Bogend
Which areas do you work in?
All of East Ayrshire, and the rest of the UK. There’s no extra charge for travel.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Is a repair better than a new one?
In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.
Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?
Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including pastel and older colours.
Can you quote from pictures?
Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.
How do I book?
Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.
How long does the repair take to cure?
Normally by the following day, though it depends on what we have done.
Are you accredited?
We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
What we are called out for in Bogend
Acrylic baths that crack nearly always have a support problem. Legs that aren’t adjusted, a missing cradle or a soft floor let the base flex until the acrylic gives way.
Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:
