Bath repair in Brockhampton without replacing anything
Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a repair that’s smooth, sound and hard to spot. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. Common call-outs are for rust spots around the plughole and hairline or through cracks in acrylic, in pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will sort it.

FAQs for Brockhampton
Does someone need to be in?
We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.
Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?
Generally, yes, if we can reach behind it. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.
Can pets and children be at home?
Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. The rest of the house is unaffected.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.
What does bath repair cost?
Repairs from £95. We give a fixed quote based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your GL51 postcode.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.
Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?
Generally, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a photo.
I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?
Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Mention it when you send pictures.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
Different materials, different repairs
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
Why repair rather than replace?
A new bath costs more than the bath itself: removal and disposal, plumbing, a new panel, tiling and decorating. With a repair, it’s one visit and one price. Our bath repair starts from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.
Why book with us
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish
- Fixed prices from your photos
- Most jobs done in one visit
- Every repair guaranteed for a year
See our prices page and guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.
What happens on the day
When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job normally takes two to three hours for most chips. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
- We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- Once it has cured, typically by the day after, the bath is ready to use.
How to prepare
- Make sure the area is dry
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
How to get a price
You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

How to look after the repair
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
- Do not scrub with anything abrasive
- Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
- Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine without abrasive products.
Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.
What we can’t put right
It helps to know what we can’t do:
- Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.
