Bath repair in Brook Street, done in place

Bath repair is our most common job. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, usually in a single visit. Typical jobs include chips under the taps and a hole punched through by something heavy, on pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we will sort it.

Your questions about bath repair in Brook Street

How long before I can use the bath?

Normally the following day. We confirm the time before we leave.

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes, coloured baths are no problem. We tint the finish to your bath on site.

Are you accredited?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

How much does bath repair cost in Brook Street?

Repairs from £95. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You’ll get a fixed figure before you book.

Will the price change on the day?

Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. If there’s more, we will tell you before starting.

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Do you come to Brook Street?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Brook Street for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Common problems we fix in Brook Street

Rust tends to begin where water collects, around the waste, under the taps or in an old chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Damage beneath the taps
  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • Deep scratches in acrylic

10 questions to ask before you book

The process

We begin by going over the job with you. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and we start. Allow a morning or an afternoon, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Let us know about parking or access

Work for landlords and builders

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Kent and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. There is no area surcharge for Brook Street. The price reflects:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many areas need work
  • The material

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

How to get a fixed quote

Two or three clear pictures are normally enough. It helps if you send:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

To get a price, send a couple of photos through our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

When a repair isn’t the answer

A repair is not always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Repairs by material

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

Why repair rather than replace?

A new bath costs more than the bath itself: removal and disposal, plumbing, a new panel, tiling and decorating. With a repair, it’s one visit and one price. Prices start from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
