Bath repair near Cadder

Bath repair in Cadder without replacing anything

A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath. You can typically use the bath the following day. If you’re dealing with impact holes in acrylic and damage beneath the taps, we can typically put it right.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Cadder. What changes the price is:

  • Access to the area
  • The material
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The type of damage

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

How to get a fixed price

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A photo taken from further back

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, add your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Exposed steel rusts fast, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.

For landlords and businesses

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

What happens on the day

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take a few hours, depending on the damage, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Cadder questions

Do you hold any accreditations?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes, we match coloured baths too. We tint the finish to your bath on site.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Is a bath repair durable?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Normally, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a picture.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Keeping it looking good

Looking after the surface is easy:

  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through until it’s repaired. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.

DIY kit or professional repair?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Repair or replace: which is better?

People frequently assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. In most cases it doesn’t: a proper repair gives it years more use, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Our bath repair starts from £95. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking, with no extras added later.
