Questions from Caenby Corner
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.
Is it messy?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
Is there a call-out fee?
There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed price includes everything.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
How invisible is a bath repair?
On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there’s more, we will tell you before starting.
Is a bath repair durable?
Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps it last.
About our bath repair in Caenby Corner
Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a repair that’s smooth, sound and hard to spot. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it’s level with the surrounding surface. We regularly repair acrylic, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel, and the jobs we see most are damage done while the bathroom was being fitted and a hole punched through by something heavy.
Every job is backed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

What your bath is made of matters
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

The process
Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you are not left guessing. On site, it takes a few hours, depending on the damage for most jobs. The room is left tidy and you will know when it can be used.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
Before we arrive
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
Ask for a price
We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

Honest limits
A repair is not right for every job, for example:
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.
Materials we work on in Caenby Corner
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Acrylic
- Cast iron enamel
- Pressed steel enamel
Why repair rather than replace?
Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and replacing like for like is not cheap. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Our bath repair starts from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.
Why us?

How to look after the repair
To keep it looking its best for years:
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
- Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
- Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- Do not scrub with anything abrasive
Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water can’t get in. Take it off before we arrive.
What we’re called out for in Caenby Corner
Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: bottles, shower heads, tiles and tools. On steel and cast iron baths, a chip that reaches the metal will start to rust.
It’s worth getting a quote if you see:
- A hole punched through by something heavy
- A chip where the taps sit
- Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
- An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
Before you book anyone

- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
- How long it needs to cure
Can I fix it myself?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
