Need bath repair in Hemswell Cliff?

Bath repair in Hemswell Cliff without replacing anything

We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. The method changes with the material: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. We regularly repair acrylic, pressed steel enamel and whirlpool & spa baths, and common reasons people contact us are hairline or through cracks in acrylic and rust spots around the plughole.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re not left on your own once we have gone.

Repairing versus replacing in Hemswell Cliff

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

For landlords and businesses

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:

  • The material and finish
  • How many areas need work
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The type of damage

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

Quotes from your pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

Most clients in Hemswell Cliff get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

What we can’t put right

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we work on in Hemswell Cliff

  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Repairs by material

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Common questions in Hemswell Cliff

What about rust by the waste?

Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.

Will the repair last?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps.

What does bath repair cost?

Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed price from your pictures. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the whole UK, including Hemswell Cliff and the rest of Lincolnshire. Send your postcode with your pictures and we’ll confirm dates.

What happens on the day

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take two to three hours for most chips, including clearing up.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Aftercare tips

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath, avoiding abrasives.

Do not leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
