Bath chip & crack repair in California, Norfolk
Fixed-price bath repair in California and the surrounding area, typically in one visit.
- Repairs from £95
- Scuffs and scratches in the surface
- Rust spots around the plughole

Should I try a DIY kit first?
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.
Bath repair in California without replacing anything
Bath repair is our most common job. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all repaired in place, typically in a single visit. We work on whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel, and common reasons people contact us are an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and chips caused by builders.
You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

How the visit works
Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Allow two to three hours for most chips from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.
- First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
- Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Advice
Looking after it afterwards
To keep it looking its best:
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
Care for the repair the same way as the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.
A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.

Signs you need bath repair in California
The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.
Contact us if you’ve noticed:
- Snagging damage from a refit
- An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
- Damage beneath the taps
- Rusty patches near the plughole

Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.
Repair or replace: which is better?
If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the entire surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Our bath repair starts from £95. Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
