Bath repair in Carstairs, done in place
A damaged bath does not have to mean a new bathroom. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, mixing the colour on the day. Common call-outs are for deep scratches in acrylic and a chipped rim or side, across pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding.
You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Your questions about bath repair in Carstairs
What do you need from me?
Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.
Are you accredited?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?
Generally, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a photo.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.
How quickly can you book me in?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
Can you match an avocado or pink bath?
Yes, coloured baths are no problem. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.
Will there be a smell?
There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

What affects the price in Carstairs
Repairs from £95. You’ll know the full cost before booking. We take into account:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- How many items we do on one visit
- What kind of damage it is
Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Carstairs. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
How to get a fixed price
When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:
- A photo taken from further back
- Details of any past repairs
- Natural light rather than flash
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

When to call us in Carstairs
Baths take more knocks than people expect: bottles, shower heads and razors are dropped every day, and taps and wastes are tightened against the surface. Over time, chips and rust spots are almost inevitable.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Chips on the rim or sides
- Holes from dropped items
- Deep scratches in acrylic
- Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
What to look for in a quote
- What happens if they find more damage
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- If travel is included in the price
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
How to look after the repair
It’s all simple stuff:
- Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
- Have new chips seen to early
- Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before using the bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.
The process
Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you’re not left guessing. On site, it takes two to three hours for most chips. The room is left tidy.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Clear the area around the damage
How to get a price
You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Should you replace it?
Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and replacing like for like isn’t cheap. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Why book with us
- A fixed quote before you book
- One visit for most repairs
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited
- Everything repaired in place
See our full price list or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.
What a repair can’t fix
We will not take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
- Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
Materials we work on in Carstairs
- Cast iron enamel
- Pressed steel enamel
- Acrylic
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Roll-top & freestanding
For landlords and businesses
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details and we will handle the rest.
About our accreditations · Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.
