Bath repair for Chew Stoke homes

How we handle bath repair in Chew Stoke

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Our repair technicians work on roll-top & freestanding, acrylic and pressed steel enamel, and people most often call us about a cracked acrylic bath and holes from dropped items.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Do you need bath repair in Chew Stoke?

Baths take more knocks than people expect: everyday items get dropped into it all the time, and fittings press hard against the enamel. Over time, chips and rust spots are almost inevitable.

The most common problems we are called about are:

  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • A chipped rim or side
  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
  • Rust by the waste and overflow

What your quote should include

  • What aftercare is recommended
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Who turns up on the day

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • What kind of damage it is

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Chew Stoke. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Getting a price from pictures

Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • The material, if you know it

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Questions from Chew Stoke

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

In most cases. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so access behind the panel is important.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Will I be able to see the repair?

The goal is a repair that blends in. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference, and we will tell you what to expect.

Do you work in Chew Stoke?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Chew Stoke and the rest of Bath and North East Somerset. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

In most cases. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

How do I book?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it deals only with the damage in a single visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why book with us

  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • No need to remove anything
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • Work done at your home or business

What we do, step by step

Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Ask for a price

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

What a repair can’t fix

We won’t take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.
