Bath repair in Cluddley

Why repair rather than replace?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it’s done in one visit, and the bathroom stays exactly as it is. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why us?

  • Generally one visit, start to finish
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • A fixed quote before you book

Bath repair in Cluddley, done in place

You don’t need a new bath because of a chip. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, with the colour mixed on site. If you’re dealing with chips along the edge of the bath and scratches you can feel with a fingernail, we can normally put it right.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many areas need work

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Cluddley. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send pictures for a quote

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • The material, if you know it
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

FAQs for Cluddley

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

When can I have a bath again?

Normally the following day. We confirm the time before we leave.

Do you cover the whole of Telford and Wrekin?

The entire UK, including all of Telford and Wrekin. Send your postcode with your photos and we will offer you dates.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including pastel and older colours.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Often, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a photo.

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

How do I book?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will take it from there.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Tell us about it when you send photos.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Repairs by material

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Honest limits

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we work on in Cluddley

  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel

How it works

On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a few hours. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Ask for a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
