Bath repair in Cowers Lane, done in place

It pays to repair bath damage while it’s small. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. A repair stops both. We regularly repair roll-top & freestanding, cast iron enamel and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are chips on the rim or sides and chips caused by builders.

Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Cowers Lane questions

Do you cover the entire of Derbyshire?

We work UK-wide, and that includes Cowers Lane. Prices don’t change with location.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Generally, yes, if we can reach behind it. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.

What happens next?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Typically, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

How much does bath repair cost in Cowers Lane?

Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Will you leave a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.

Do you need bath repair in Cowers Lane?

A bath gets knocked about more than you’d think: everyday items get dropped into it all the time, and fittings press hard against the enamel. Over time, chips and rust spots are almost inevitable.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • A chip where the taps sit
  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • A hole punched through by something heavy

What your quote should include

  • When it can be used again
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

How to compare quotes

Should you replace it?

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one usually means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

What you get with us

  • No need to remove anything
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • Colour mixed on the day to match

What happens on the day

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. It generally takes a few hours, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can normally use the bath the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:

  • The material
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How much damage there is
  • Access to the area

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, include your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Keeping it looking good

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Store metal items away from the bath

There’s nothing special to do after a repair. Skip bleach and gritty creams and give it a rinse after each bath.

Small chips are quick to repair. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so early repair saves time and money.

When we would advise against a repair

Some jobs are not right for a repair, including:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Work for landlords and builders

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Derbyshire and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip.

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
