Bath repair in Dallinghoo without replacing anything
We have repaired just about every kind of bath damage: dropped-bottle chips, plughole rust, acrylic cracks and impact holes. All of it is repaired where the bath stands. Common call-outs are for a kit repair that didn’t last and a hole punched through by something heavy, in whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and acrylic.
You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Whether we combine several jobs
- The colour and finish to match
- What the surface is made of
Set against the cost of replacement, repairing usually costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Quotes from your pictures
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Something in shot to show the size
Email us photos of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your IP13 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
Should you replace it?
Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. A repair keeps it in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it.

- Chips along the edge of the bath

Keeping it looking good
It’s all simple stuff:
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
- Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
- Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- Store metal items away from the bath
There is nothing special to do after a repair. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners and rinse after use.
Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.
Questions from Dallinghoo
Is there a call-out fee?
No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Will there be a smell?
There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.
I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?
Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Mention it when you send pictures.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.
Can you match an avocado or pink bath?
Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including pastel and older colours.
Will I be able to see the repair?
The goal is a repair that blends in. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference.
Does someone need to be in?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before.
What happens on the day
Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we’re doing. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.
- We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the day after.
How to prepare
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Make sure the area is dry
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
How to get a price
There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

What else we do in Dallinghoo
Repairs by material
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
What we cannot put right
It helps to know what we cannot do too:
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.
Materials we repair
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Cast iron enamel
- Acrylic
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Pressed steel enamel
Should I try a DIY kit first?
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
