Bath repair in California

Repairing versus replacing in California

People frequently assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. In most cases it doesn’t: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Why book with us

  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface

We have repaired just about every kind of bath damage: chips from dropped bottles, rust round the plughole, cracks in acrylic and holes from falling tools. All of it is repaired where the bath stands. We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we have gone.

Landlord and trade work in California

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

If you manage property in California, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we will come back with a combined price.

What affects the price in California

Repairs from £95. We give every job a fixed quote from pictures. These are the things that affect it:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The material
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The type of damage

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

How to get a fixed price

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Send us pictures of the damage and one of the whole item, with your IP13 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

California: your questions answered

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Frequently, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a photo.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you’ll get one combined price.

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide, so California is covered. Prices do not change with location.

How much does bath repair cost in California?

Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your IP13 postcode.

Can pets and children be at home?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Aftercare tips

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating

A repaired bath needs no special treatment, just sensible cleaning. Skip bleach and gritty creams.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water can’t get in. Take it off before we arrive.

What happens on the day

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. The job generally runs to a morning or an afternoon, including clearing up.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. Once it has cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready to use.

How to prepare

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Getting a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Repairs by material

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
