Need bath repair in Danestone?

Keeping it looking good

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Do not scrub with anything abrasive

A repaired bath needs no special treatment, beyond gentle cleaning. Skip bleach and gritty creams.

Small chips are quick to repair. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so early repair saves time and money.

Bath repair in Danestone, done in place

Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, can be repaired with the bath left exactly where it is. There’s no plumbing to disconnect, the tiles are not touched, and the repaired area is colour matched so it blends in. We regularly repair roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel, and people most often call us about rusty patches near the plughole and scuffs and scratches in the surface.

Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee in Danestone and across Aberdeen.

Danestone questions

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners across Aberdeen.

Will the repair show?

On a glossy bath, you will struggle to find it. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

What do you need from me?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.

Can you redo an old repair?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Mention it when you send pictures.

Can you repair a hole in a bath?

In most cases. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Repair or replace in Danestone?

Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and replacing like for like is not cheap. A repair keeps it in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Repairs by material

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

What we do, step by step

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a few hours, depending on the damage. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Getting a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The material and finish
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

Getting a price from photos

Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and no obligation.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, including:

  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.
