Bath repair in Edial without replacing anything

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. Each material is repaired a little differently: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. Whether it’s cracks in an acrylic bath and a kit repair that didn’t last, we can typically put it right, on pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel alike.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

Edial questions

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.

Do you cover Edial?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Edial. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first.

Do you charge for travel?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including pastel and older colours.

I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Mention it when you send pictures.

How to look after the repair

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Store metal items away from the bath

Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water can’t get in. Take it off before we arrive.

Landlord and trade work in Edial

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Edial as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

DIY kit or professional repair?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

How the visit works

Once we are through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes two to three hours for most chips, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Ask for a price

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Common problems we fix in Edial

Most bath damage comes from something dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On enamelled baths, a chip that reaches the metal lets water in, and rust follows.

Most people get in touch after spotting something like this:

  • Rusty patches near the plughole
  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
  • Chips under the taps
  • A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • Who will actually do the work
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers

Choosing a repair company

What a repair cannot fix

We will not take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel

Repairing versus replacing in Edial

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally means a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Prices start from £95. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.
