Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel

About our bath repair in Egypt

We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath. You can usually use the bath the next day. Whether it’s chips on the rim or sides and holes from dropped items, we can help, whatever the material.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

For landlords and businesses

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Repair or replace in Egypt?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Why choose Surface Doctor in Egypt

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Work done at your home or business
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Typically one visit, start to finish

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

Common questions in Egypt

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.

Do you cover the whole of Hampshire?

Across the UK, and that includes Egypt. Prices do not change with location.

What happens if you find more damage?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Can you quote from pictures?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Egypt. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Getting a price from photos

Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job.

When to call us in Egypt

A cracked acrylic bath usually wasn’t supported properly. Loose legs, no proper cradle or a floor that gives let the bath move until the acrylic gives way.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • Damage beneath the taps
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • Snagging damage from a refit

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether the price covers travel
  • How long it needs to cure
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

How to compare quotes

The process

We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we are doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. Allow two to three hours for most chips, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the day after.

How to prepare

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Let us know about parking or access

Get a quote

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
