Bath repair in Fron, done in place
It pays to repair bath damage while it’s small. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. A repair stops both. Whether it’s damage beneath the taps and scratches you can feel with a fingernail, we can help.
You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back.

What happens on the day
Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a morning or an afternoon, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
Preparing for the visit
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Make sure the area is dry
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Advice
Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
Work for landlords and builders
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip.
What a repair cannot fix
A repair is not always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. We cannot fix:
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.
Materials we work on in Fron

- Cast iron enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Pressed steel enamel
Can I fix it myself?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
How to look after the repair
Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
- Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
A repaired bath needs no special treatment. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners and give it a rinse after each bath.
If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Every use opens the crack a little more, and water can get through to the floor below.
Repair or replace: which is better?
People often assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. In most cases it doesn’t: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Our bath repair starts from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What else we do in Fron
Questions from Fron
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.
Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?
Often, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a photo.
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders across Powys.
Can you match an avocado or pink bath?
Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including older coloured suites.
How invisible is a bath repair?
On a bath in good condition, a colour matched repair is very hard to spot. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.
Are you accredited?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.
Can you price it without visiting?
Usually, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.
