Bath re-enamelling in Fron without replacing anything
If your bath is sound but looks tired, re-enamelling is typically the most cost-effective option. There is no removal, plumbing or tiling involved. Our repair technicians work on basins & shower trays, cast iron baths and Victorian roll-tops, and the jobs we see most are an old resurfacing that’s failing and lots of chips and rust spots.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we will sort it.

DIY kit or professional repair?
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
Repairs by material
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Fron questions
Can you quote from pictures?
Nearly always. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.
Is there a smell?
There is some smell while the coating is applied, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It clears as the finish cures.
Is there a guarantee?
All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.
Do you cover the whole of Powys?
The whole UK, including all of Powys. Just include your postcode and we’ll offer you dates.
Will you leave a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Yes, we often do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
Will the new finish last?
A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.
Should you replace it?
A new bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and several days without a working bathroom. Re-enamelling renews the entire surface without moving it. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

The process
We turn up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take the best part of a day, and we leave the room as we found it.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- The bath is left to cure and can typically be used the day after.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
Getting a price
Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.

- Holes rusted through the metal
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
- A metal bath with a through crack

Keeping it looking good
Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
- Avoid suction-cup mats
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
- Get any chip repaired quickly
The first few days matter most: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.
Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time, and each one adds to the preparation. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.
