Bath repair in Glastonbury, done in place
Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. We’re frequently asked to fix chips on the rim or sides and damage beneath the taps, across acrylic, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding.
You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll come back.

Glastonbury: your questions answered
Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?
Generally. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.
Can you price it without visiting?
In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.
Is there any odour?
Expect a mild smell while we are working that clears as it cures.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.
Is a bath repair permanent?
It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It carries our one-year guarantee.
Do I have to be there?
We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
How we price bath repair
Repairs from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:
- The material and finish
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- The type of damage
- How many areas need work
We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
How to get a fixed price
We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Something in shot to show the size
- One picture of the whole bath
Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

The process
A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for two to three hours for most chips. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
How to prepare
- Ensure the area is dry
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
How to get a price
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price without visiting.
Advice
DIY repairs versus a professional job
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.
What we’re called out for in Glastonbury
Most bath damage comes from something dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On enamelled baths, a chip that reaches the metal will start to rust.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
- Chips caused by builders
- Chips along the edge of the bath
- Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
Before you book anyone
- How long it needs to cure
- How changes to the job are handled
- What aftercare is recommended
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
Repairs by material
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
Pressed steel
Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.
Work for landlords and builders
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we will handle the rest.
Keeping it looking good
How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
There’s nothing special to do after a repair, just sensible cleaning. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners and rinse after use.
A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.
