Bath repair in Hailes, done in place
We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. The method changes with the material: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. Common call-outs are for a chipped rim or side and hairline or through cracks in acrylic, across whirlpool & spa baths, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding.
Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
Landlord and trade work in Hailes
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
When a repair isn’t the answer
We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.
Materials we repair
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Pressed steel enamel
- Acrylic
- Cast iron enamel
Should you replace it?
Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. A repair keeps it in place. Our bath repair starts from £95. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
Why us?
- Every repair guaranteed for a year
- Most jobs done in one visit
- Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
- One price list for the whole UK
See our pricing and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.
Keeping it looking good
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Do not leave a fresh chip for long
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine, avoiding abrasives.
Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.
The process
We turn up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes a morning or an afternoon, and we leave the room as we found it.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the day after.
Preparing for the visit
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Keep a parking space free if you can

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
Which areas do you work in?
We work UK-wide. Our prices are the same everywhere.
Is it messy?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Do the materials smell?
Expect a mild smell while we’re working, which fades afterwards.
Will I be able to see the repair?
We aim for a repair you can’t easily find. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath.
How do I book?

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?
In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.

What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. The main factors are:
- How many areas need work
- The type of damage
- How hard the colour is to match
- What the surface is made of
We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Hailes. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Getting a price from pictures
When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
For a price in Hailes, the easiest route is photos: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.
