About our bath repair in Cheltenham

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. We regularly repair cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel, and common reasons people contact us are a cracked acrylic bath and chips under the taps.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Before and after: a damaged acrylic bath corner repaired in place

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. We give every job a fixed quote from pictures. This is what makes a difference:

  • What the surface is made of
  • How many areas need work
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • What kind of damage it is

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Getting a price from photos

You can normally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath

We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Honest limits

Some jobs are not right for a repair, for example:

  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Do you need bath repair in Cheltenham?

Baths take more knocks than people expect: everyday items get dropped into it all the time, and fittings press hard against the enamel. Sooner or later, most baths pick up a chip.

Customers normally contact us about:

  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
  • Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic

What your quote should include

  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • What preparation is included
  • How long it needs to cure

How to compare quotes

Should you replace it?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: tiles along the rim typically crack when it comes out, a new panel is frequently needed, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. A repair skips all of it. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

Why us?

  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • Colour-matched on site

See our pricing or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

What happens on the day

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Plan for a few hours from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. Once it has cured, typically by the next day, the bath is ready to use.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Advice

Cheltenham questions

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes, we match coloured baths too. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before and we will plan for it.

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

Often, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a photo.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Do you cover the whole of Gloucestershire?

Across the UK, so Cheltenham is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, just like other baths.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Cheltenham

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
