Chips, cracks, rust spots and small holes can be repaired with the bath left exactly where it is. There is no plumbing to disconnect, the tiles are not touched, and the finish is matched to the rest of the bath. Common call-outs are for a cracked acrylic bath and a kit repair that didn’t last, in cast iron enamel, pressed steel enamel and acrylic.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back.

Landlord and trade work in St Paul's

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in St Paul's use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it usually costs far less than a refit.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. Generally it does not: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Prices start from £95. A repair typically costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Why St Paul's customers choose us

  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Colour-matched on site
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. There’s no charge for travel to St Paul's. The price comes down to:

  • The material
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How much damage there is
  • How easy the damage is to reach

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for St Paul's. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

Two or three clear photos are generally enough. Try to include:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A picture taken from further back

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

What happens on the day

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we’re doing. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. It normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Honest limits

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

St Paul's questions

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Will you leave a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

Is a bath repair durable?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Gloucestershire.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Looking after it afterwards

It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:

  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale

Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Small chips are quick to repair. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so early repair saves time and money.
